Group video calls now available

In this milestone release, we are introducing Glacier end-to-end encrypted group video calls with up to 5 participants.

Introducing end-to-end encrypted video

Today, we're excited to launch group calls for up to 5 participants. While in an existing group tap the call icon. All users in the group will receive a notification to join. Group calls are private and end-to-end encrypted.

Improvements and bug fixes (iOS)

  • Fixed issues related to sharing links and media
  • Moved permission requests until after the user logs in
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the screen to dim while on a audio/video call
  • Fixed multiple bugs related to calls
  • User avatars are now not shown over video
  • Fixed an issue where Core Connection sometimes doesn't disable
  • Starting a call now requires confirmation

  • Fixed an issue where video stops working after putting Glacier in the background
  • Fixed multiple bugs related to calls
  • Improvements to the proximity sensor while on a call to reduce accidental screen taps
  • Starting a call now requires confirmation
