Glacier participated in the Technology Readiness Experimentation (T-REX) 2024 event at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. Together with Honeywell, we unveiled the GoSecure Kit, a comms solution featuring Glacier’s Android and iPhone platforms with end-to-end encrypted communications, quantum-resistant key material, real-time location tracking, and mobile threat defense.
During T-REX 2024, the GoSecure Kit was rigorously evaluated through several high-impact tests designed to validate its performance in mission-critical military environments:
1. Glacier-to-Glacier Encrypted Communications over Degraded Networks
We demonstrated end-to-end encrypted phone calls and messaging between Glacier devices over both high-latency SAT and cellular networks, ensuring communication security in environments with degraded or unstable connectivity.
2. Live Tracking and Historical Capture
Our platform was also evaluated for its live device tracking and historical movement capture capabilities through dynamic operational environments.
3. Compromised Device Simulation
We ran a simulated compromised device scenario, where the GoSecure Kit demonstrated its effectiveness in responding to security breaches. Following predefined security playbooks, the system successfully:
- Quarantined the device
- Sent real-time alerts to the operations team
- Executed a full endpoint wipe, ensuring no sensitive data could be accessed or exploited
These tests showcased the GoSecure Kit as a resilient and reliable solution for secure communications, real-time tracking, and threat defense in mission-critical operations.
About Technology Readiness Experimentation (TREX):
The Army's T-REX (Technology Readiness Experimentation) program in Indiana is a key initiative aimed at accelerating military innovation through experimentation and prototyping. Held at Camp Atterbury and Muscatatuck Training Center, this program is part of the Department of Defense's (DoD) Rapid Defense Experimentation Reserve (RDER) initiative, which focuses on testing and validating emerging technologies that meet joint warfighting needs.
T-REX involves full-scale exercises that simulate real-world scenarios—such as disaster situations requiring resilient communications—where military technologies like cyber protection, surveillance systems, and counterintelligence tools are tested. This provides the military with practical data to fast-track the fielding of new technologies. The program also serves as a showcase for defense companies to present cutting-edge innovations that could enhance U.S. military capabilities. View the DoD press release here.
